6 Factors That Can Secretly Dehydrate You

Dehydration is one tricky issue because you don’t always feel it. You see, you could be mildly dehydrated and not really know what the cause of your lethargy is.

Unfortunately, in this day and age of stimulants more and more people are becoming dehydrated.

Thus, here are 6 hidden sources of dehydration:

1. Natural tea: Just because it doesn’t have as much caffeine as coffee and just because it doesn’t give you a crash, don’t assume that it’s not dehydrating you. In fact, since tea increases circulation it can dehydrate you very quickly.

2. Activity that is not strenuous: Just because you don’t feel it, per se, doesn’t mean you aren’t losing water. You see, a lot of perspiration takes place without profuse sweating. Moreover, a lot of water is lost through respiration or through breathing.

3. Non-stimulating levels of caffeine: Here is the issue, your body gets used to the stimulatory effect of caffeine, but it doesn’t get used to its dehydrating effect. So just because you are no longer getting stimulated from your caffeine intake, don’t assume you aren’t getting dehydrated.

4. Eating too much: Your body needs water to digest food. And if you are eating a high amount of calories with minimal water intake you could be dehydrating yourself via digestion. Now keep in mind that fluids with calories are not as hydrating as water.

5. Not hydrating during the most important moments: There are certain times during the day when you are more dehydrated. One noteworthy period is right when you wake up in the morning. And even if you don’t feel thirsty you still need to drink water.

6. Barriers to drinking: If you don’t have fresh water close by you are less likely to hydrate properly. And keep in mind that optimal hydration involves drinking water in small amounts throughout the day. So keep a water bottle close by at all times.

Staying hydrated is critical for health and for fat loss. So don’t sit on this information and take action here as soon as you can!
